View Full Version : Free KWS T-shirt if you guess right!
Let's have little fun here, because I didn't!!! As most people know my '00 GSXR750 wouldn't rev (sputtered) past 8000 rpm at RRR. As of this weekend I finally got it working properly.
Can anyone guess what the problem was? You get two guesses and the close out date will be Wednesday the 22nd of March at 6pm. If you guess correctly, you get a brand new KWS T-shirt! If not, you suck!
P.S. If your answer is "it's a Suzuki" it's a partial win and you get a 'special' gift but PLEASE BE SPECIFIC with your answers!

If our guess is close do we get a used and dirty KWS Tee Shirt?
1 Pinched fuel line.
2 bad gas

Close doesn't cut it, but if you win I know more than one way to soil a shirt!
There's are some pretty good guesses so far, keep it up.

OK, who fucked with the fuel curve on the power commander?
My other guess
What was clogging the air tubes?

only in tennessee are all internal combustion engines fueled by diesel. don't tell me you thought that suzuki was a semi!?
The cable that goes to the exhaust valve broke loose causing the exhaust valve not to open. That's it!

damn, hope it didn't cost ya too much to figure that one out.
wow gsxr's have a butterfly to huh? on the kawi's i have the first thing to make hp is to lock that thing in the open position. the vaulve is made so that the bike can pass california emmisions.. some people say also to help low end power but kevin proved that wrong.

So when do I get my shirt :smile
my guess is a bad exhaust valve
Opps......forgot to post the winner! Austin takes the cake!!
If you come over Sunday for the race party, I'll have it for you. It's a black/white large KWS shirt. If you can't make it to the party, I think Kenny might be coming, I'll give it to him.

I'm glad you got it figured out. Now are you going to be able to make Jennings next month before you head out?

I'd like too, but it's pushing close to my deployment and I will most likely be in Tennessee that weekend.

i doubt very seriously that the exhaust valve is there to meet emissions requirements for cali..............they would not make them all that way and waste all that money if you look in the manuals they will show the difference between the cali and 49 state models as they are called....the valve is there to create back pressure at low rpms which in theory gives more torque
I have dyno charts to prove that wrong. the vaulve closes at 3k that where they test a motor at....

This is correct, that is why Yamaha and Honda started using them and Suzuki started in 2000 with the S.E.T. valve for the 750 and introduced it on the 1000 a year later. It was in all the press kits for the GSXR 1000 launch in 2001 and it's been on all the bigger bore bike ever since. Yamaha has now put their EX-UP valve on the new R-6 which is the first application for a 600.
NO IT IS NOT FOR EMMISSIONS CONTROL IN CALIFORNIA, THAT'S WHAT THE CATALITIC CONVERTER IS FOR. IT JUST CHOCKS MORE HP OUT OF THE BIKES THERE.
