ok so i have heard this twice now... One day i was just bs'in with mr kevin hunt and he had a bike on the dyno, a new gsxr 1000 and i over heard him say "you will need two pc3's due to double fuel injectors. well now the guys on zx-10r.net are saying the same thing. one of the guys is saying it is possible to tune the bike only useing the lower injectors. another stated a whole list of bikes for 2006 witch needed 2 pc3's. Another stated that PC was coming out with a updated version to solve this delima. has anyone heard about this? the reason i ask is the zx636 was on that list. and before all the zx bashin starts if you have a 2006 most likely your in the same boat.

The problem is that most of the modern fuel injected sport bikes have dual stage injectors. Meaning that the primary injectors handle the fuel supply until a certain rpm and then above that RPM the fuel supply is aided by a second set of injectors. The dilemma is that the pc3 only controls one set of injectors (something i am sure that Dynojet with fix soon). I have heard of people attempting to use 2 power commanders to get the most out of their bike, but the mapping became so complicated they got better performance just using the pc on the primary stage injectors (remember they are running throughout the entire RPM range, unlike the secondary injectors). I am not saying it can't be done correctly by someone who really knows what they are doing with a dyno and the mapping software. I just haven't seen it.
My recommendation: buy the standard PCIII usb get a map made for the primary injectors and use it until dynojet comes out with one for a duel injector system. Then sell it on ebay.

First time I've ever heard of this. I know to use the quickshifter you have to get the ignition module if your bike has eight injectors.

Maybe Burns can give us a little insight on how Kevin accomplishes mapping two Power Commanders at the same time.

Hey,

Here is the deal....THe PCIII USB does not control all 8 injectors. Just the primarys. But it does not need to.....It can adjust the FI more than enough with the primarys to get the A/F ratio correct in 90% of all motor applications.

The only reason to run multiple PC's is if you are running a BIG motor. Otherwise you are wasting your money. You do need an ignition module to run a quick shifter on 8 injector bikes for the same reason. The PC does not control the top 4 injectors.

Just for a point of reference. Our AMA bikes run a standard (1) PCIIIUSB, Ign Mod, Shifter set up and have done so for a year and a half. Nothing special.....

Any other questions.....please let me know..
