OK here we go, AUG 28th 2009. This will be the date for Jasons Trackday. Cost is $105.00 per person and only a 30 rider limit. I will need payment in full as soon as possible. I know I sound like a broken record on this, but I will have to front the money for the date and it is dead in the middle of race season, so please don't drag your feet on this one. YOu will have to pay $150.00 the day of the event. Some people hold out for the weather, well that's not right, If you sign up for a sanctioned trackday, payment is expected up front with no "rain checks".

The guest that was coming has had a change of schedule so he will not be able to attend so it is even more important now that I am commited to the date that everyone pay in advance. I do think it's only fair to warn Jason that I have reached the 13th level of Gundar, and found unobtainium. This can make me extremely fast under certain conditions...
1. I must be in a pack of 10 or more bikes.
2. I must eat 50 wings that are on fire. (That's the smell they talk about)
3. I have to hit a soccer ball with a footbal bat, 120 yards and bounce it off a tree into a basketball rim...nothing but net.
4. I have to sign my name to 1000+ tickets and put them in a box for a 4 wheeled battle vehicle.
5. I have to hit precisely 88 mph in first gear with the flux capaciter....fluxing.

well i am iced up and doped up pretty good guys i feel bad for being the guy takig the ambulance but i was feelin pretty rough. at least it was near lunch anyway. ended up fully separating my collarbone ligament from my right shoulder so basically my collarbone is free floating right now. gotta follow up with navy docs and see what my options are as far as surgery. doc in GA said i'll probably need to have it worked on.

so anyway...i know youre all on the edge of your seats wondering what happened...my line into 6 was too tight so i ran wide coming out. mightve been the rain or it might've just been tires but i stayed on the throttle and kept leaning until it lowsided about a foot before the ege of the track. definitely my fastest wreck yet, was doing about 75-80. felt like i tumbled for freakin ever though. DW what wer we saying about wrecks at 80? yeah i'll pass next time, you can have em :P

long story short...i probably won't be riding for a few weeks. geico will probably total the bike so i may be in the market for something else soon anyway. thanks for the concern everybody, now if youll excuse me i need to go learn how to wipe with my left hand. :crap:

Sucks Brian, I think you have the same injury I had from a highside. Grade 3 acromioclavicular seperation. My orthopedic surgeon said in his experience, surgery is a bad idea. I checked out the wera board and guys that did have the operation would just have the screw pull out later. Anyways surgery free my injured sholder feels better than my other. Just had to get used to my collar bone sticking up a little. It used to stuck up as much as I saw yours was, but as the muscles regain strength it will not look as bad. All the pain you feel is from your stretched muscles getting used to holding the weight of your arm 100% without the help of the collar bone. Thats how my doc explained it to me.

And yes it was me that was riding with you, Erich told me you thought you were following Kenny. You must have crashed a split second after I looked back at you coming out of that turn. And then when I looked back after turn 7, no Brian. Well if it means anything you had good corner speed out there, just had a wide line everywhere and I was trying to get you closer to the apexes. Hang in there, it will get better.

so here's some pics of the damage. once I sprayed the dirt off it actually wasn't too bad, just mainly cosmetics. need a new tank, clipons, straighten out the subframe and maybe rims but that's about all the functional problems i can see so far.

the GEICO guy said they were going to total it. good thing is I don't own much so it'll get paid off with some to spare. might try keeping it and turning it into (you guessed it) a track bike. :D

This bike isn't really in bad shape. It's just a typical crash with the usual stuff that gets damage from a crash on the track.

What could have been done to prevent this bike from getting totaled? I would recommend to everyone who does more than one trackday to get race bodywork. Hell bodywork can be found on ebay for $300 all day. A used gas tank that has a ding or two can be had for usually a 100 bucks or so on ebay as well. Throw in another 100 bucks for sliders, fasteners, misc items and you have yourself a well prepped track day machine. This bike would have needed $15 worth of bondo to repair the bodywork and a $10 clipon off the wera board.

So it's all in how you want to spend your $500. The way I see it, you can spend it in your insurance deductible plus increased rates, or you can spend it the way I suggested.

BTW I'm glad to here that Brian is doing ok after his get off. Oh, by no means am I making light of Brian's crash. I have been where Brian's been a time or two. I just wanted to pass on my first hand experience on how to save yourself the headache, hassle and increased insurance premiums.

I agree with Barry....... but then there comes the issue of when you get back from the track you gotta spend all that time switching the bodywork, wiring everything back up, etc and we all know we are too lazy to do that crap. We just want to ride. If you don't take Barry's advice then here's another little tip, buy a dedicated track bike. Yeah it will cost you more up front but you will always have that piece of mind that you will still have something to ride on the street when you get home.

This is a video of that my friend took. I had a great time even though the rain came. I heard I missed out on the Island Grill, but it was good to get back and start working on the honey do list. Kenny it was good to see you. I think the last time I saw you was on a sunday ride from the tree when Derrick rode. I have some old pictures of that ride I will have to send you. I am glad to see both of the guys that crashed are ok. I saw Brian's crash and it looked pretty bad. There is some footage of the R6 that crashed on this video too. You were really fast out there and I am glad you did not hurt. take care guys and I look foward to the next track day hopefully on a smaller bike for me. The TL is a big bike and I shoulda got something smaller but hey its all good. Anyone want the TL? $3000 gets it and everything I have to go along.
