did you check with "vroom vroom sounds like you ride a 500, no its more like a 900 vtwin" progressive? or get animated esurance?
I just went on progressive to see about adding full coverage to the viffer in case some crack head takes it, since they would have to be high to steal mine. doubles my rates to 200/year which is still not to bad i guess.

You are/were in the military, right? Try USAA, who outsources their insurance to Progressive (at a discount). You shouldn't be paying more than $400-$600 a year for full coverage unless you have a pretty crappy record.

I thought that USAA was not doing any new policies on bikes, could be wrong though.
I use State Farm, $600 for the year, full coverage. It is the only thing I have through them as well. Farm Bureau told me to go somewhere else as they are too expensive, they didn't even want to quote a price.

+1 to State Farm. $480/year. Hoping my rates don't go up from the 4point California Stop last Dec & the 9mph over ticket from last month. :wall:

70% of your insurance rate is going to be based on your credit. given the large variation in perceived risk of insuring a sportbike, rates swing wildly depending on where on the risk ladder they place you.
when you dont have alot of credit built yet.... you get stuffed in the higher risk category. on a sportbike, being stuffed in that category can mean $3300+ a year premiums for full coverage.

I went through USAA/Progressive just because it was easiest. They say it will go down once I have a motorcycle endorsement on my liscense and have taken all 3 safety classes the AF now requires of me. But in the meantime, it sucks!

i also use progressive....
without a motorcycle endorsement, my CBRs insurance would have been 800 more a year.... so thats probably a good chunk of yours... however on the safety course discount, i didnt get very much off...

i do the usaa/progressive. its cheaper to do that or to go through any agent that will use progressive. before usaa i went through l&r which was an agent for progressive. but you guys are pissing me off talking about $600 a year lol i pay $300 a year for liability, full coverage was gonna be over 3 grand and i have excellant credit so i dont think that has a whole lot to do with it.

they wanted $3300 a year for full coverage on my CBR.... needless to say, this is the first bike i dont have full coverage on. it does have GPS tracking though, and i do own a couple rifles.
if my bike actually gets stolen, i might not post about it.

yeah credit should not have any effect cause you can get a quote online with out having any credit check and that is what you will pay once you give them all your info as long as you do not have any tickets or accidents, i made up bogus stuff on progressive all the time to get quotes on my bikes. And they matched the same when i put in my info.
its your age, size, type of bike and if you get full coverage then est repair costs if something happens to that bike. so some bikes will be higher then others due to parts cost. maybe if you have like a credit score of like 200 it might effect it.
for guys 35 is the good year for the insurance to drop not sure for women.

just make sure if you dont get full coverage to lock it up tight, its not fun knowing you have to pay on something you dont even have, like my buddy is having to do right know.
FYI comprehensive covers theft.

call dairyland they were 1100 dollars cheaper than geico
also they offer two programs one of them your your credit doesnt effect your premium
I called state farm yesterday and they quoted me over $1100 less than what I'm paying now for comp/liability. Right now, I have geico and it is $1800 a year. For full coverage state farm wants $1400. Needless to say, I'm going to shop around a little more, but I'm probably going to switch everything to state farm.

a 2002 RC51 with 25/50/25 liability & Uninsured, 25k medical per person, 100 deducible on comp and collision/ 3k accessories covered for me is $2,089.00 if i change it say I am single then it goes up to 2700.
Basic liability is $250/yr
oh and i have crappy credit.

same liabilty, no medical per person and $500 deductible, 3k accessories is $1,012.00/yr
State Farm sucks so bad that they wouldn't even write me a policy because of my wife's driving record. So, I made a call to Dairyland to check them out. Long story, short, I got comp/lia. on both bikes for $490(full coverage would have been $1000). I couldn't believe that shit. I saved $1900/yr.

i might have gotten a little bit cheaper quote, but i don't exactly have the cleanest driving record...(from going on rides where 11 people get $400 tickets because they were following charles...)
