Is the Columbia and Savannah guys bumping any Charleston folks out?
Scootimus
09-21-2009, 06:31 PM
I think Kenny tries to keep it local so he uses Wera as a last option. And right now with timing, those guys trying to send in payment will be too close. I'm not the expert on this but I am staying at a Holiday Inn Express!

Don't take that the wrong way, he's just razzin. I always offered the local guys first dibs, but there has always been others, plus this trackday is no where near full, hence the friday deadline.:yeah:
The concern has always been getting enough people, not who might get bumped. I'm sure Kenny has yet to come close to having that issue.

Hey Kenny, not that my bike will have any issues (since it is safety wires etc.. for WERA) but for the guys that are coming with me what bike prep do they need. I am assuming lights and mirrors taped/removed. What about kick stands, and anti freeze?

What about water wetter instead of antifreeze? I personally would want others to run it if I were out there with them.

Here's an idea... have people pre-pay for an open date track day. When you fill enough slots (say, a minimum of 20 + 5 'safeties' @$125), put the date to a vote as usual. If there were a few people that couldn't make it, they'd get their money back (or a slot in the next day), and the 'safeties' would at least cover the minimum rental fee.

After rethinking, I have done about as much as I can on my bike at RRR. It's just too long and fast for my bike. JGP and CMP are much better for what I am riding. I can really only pass a few 600's at RRR "Nash" but everybody passes him, or a really slow 1k rider. Probably won't make another one until next May when I will have another bike.
I will be going to VIR south until I deploy.
Actually the only time I've seen Nash at RRR was after he laped me or was in the pit's. He's such an ass.

Don't suppose anyone has a spare set of tire warmers that I can use at the track this Monday do they? Want to try out some tires but won't mount them unless I can get a set of warmers.
Thanks
I know there used to be a foot gate that stayed open, does anyone know if thats still there so if I drop my stuff off and park my truck outside the track I will still be able to leave? I might not be able to get down there until 630 or so and that doesn't leave much time to fry some birds.
Kenny has control over the gate...sometimes.

As much as he pays to rent the track, he should, but thats an entirely different point.

"That's a negative ghostrider, the pattern is full." The track nazi would have a cow!
Shawn said it would be ok with no warmers as long as you take it easy the first couple of laps.
That is a true statement. It's just tough to keep the speeds down and let them heat like they should. Just make sure you are one of the first ones out in your session, and everyone knows you will be zig-zagging and going kinda slow for a couple laps.

I know there used to be a foot gate that stayed open, does anyone know if thats still there so if I drop my stuff off and park my truck outside the track I will still be able to leave? I might not be able to get down there until 630 or so and that doesn't leave much time to fry some birds.
Ok, So I got a bird sitting in my fridge. Do I bring this or are we bailing on the "fired turkeys"? I got a whole pot of chili too that is for sure coming. Made it with deer meat so I hope somone will try it. Its good!!! I just need a way to heat it up. My inverter might do it.
:chin:
OK, so the usual question, who wants pics? Unfortunately Monday is not a holiday for me :crap:
As I said last night, I do!
I am in on the pics. I still want some pics from the last RRR day if you can work that out too.
So only two people?

Unfortunately insurance regulations trump all! They have to keep some type of order at the track or else people would be coming and going at all hours and nobody's equipment would be safe.

Bring it, can't hurt. Also, I have a stove in the RV that I will be willing to heat a pot o chili on if needed.
I got my bird on ice also, I'll be picking up stuff for brine a little later today.

If anyone needs me to stop and get anything, give me a ring 803-600-4412. As far as dinner goes I have chili and rice and a bird that needs to be cooked. see you guys in a little while.

Well I am on my way home. Thanks Kenny for another great day. Lots of track time, great weather up until the late afternoon. Wish I hadn't gotten in late last night and had been able to do the turkeys last night, but the one I did at lunch was awesome. Can't wait until the next one.

We had an awesome time! The kids definitly had a blast. Especially in Scott's RV, LOL. They enjoyed the camp out too.
The show was great, definitly something I would enjoy doing again.
There was tons of food I had to bring home. I wish everyone would have been able to have french toast, but I understand the pre-race jitters. I'm glad the bacon worked out though. Next time we will only do bacon, LOL.
Lunch was great too.
The rain definitly put an end to the fun *sigh*.
The ride home seemed faster then the ride down.
Till next time everyone!

Yeah, I didn't get R6's name but she was doing really good and yes she was fast.
It was good to see Amy out there also, I think everyone thought that was the coolest. Bike had what 12 miles on it and she was at the track on it? That's awesome and she had the biggest shit eatin' grin at the end of the day. Asked if she would be back..... Hell yeah!

Erich (Eshmonk) turned in a 1:27.5 :yeah:
Scott (Scootimus) turned in a 1:21 :hail:
Best for last, Amy turned in a 2:01! Not bad considering she and the bike have only ridden 12 miles before the trackday. I'm sure she went into the upper 1 minute range, but I did not run with her later in the day to get her times.
Good job to all.

Dan,
Thanks for the tow the last session, it was a blast. Definitely know where to go next time. Congrats on the 1.17, and Scott for the 1.21.
If there is no reason why I shouldn't, I might jump in intermediate next go round to see if we can drop a couple more seconds off.
And I believe Amy did great, especially the last session, I am sure she was below 2. At least it looked that way dipping into 6 like she did on that last lap.
Great time and everyone came home in one piece.

Erich,
I would definitely recommend the step up next time. You see how following someone faster makes you a little faster. I'd say do it, but that's just my opinion.
And Dan, it was good to follow you around. Just gotta work on my lines a little bit more and I'll be happy. Hell, I was happy with the times I was runnin.
