Well the weekend didn't get off to a good start for anyone. Matt bent his front wheel during practice on Sat., and it rained very hard on Sat afternoon and Sunday race day until about 2:00 pm. Trey's first race he got a 3rd in the pouring down rain. I got a fifth and Kenny, Matt, and Jason didn't place that well either. All of us were very mad. Trey has very little experience with rain racing, and the rest of us has almost no experience in the rain. On top of that none of us low budget people had rain tires except Trey. I was really down and pissed about the weather, and so was everyone else. Here is something that I learned, The Charleston boys don't know anything about racing in the rain, but we are quick learners. Anyway, we dont make excuses, so Trey started it off. His second race he scortched everyone, in the pouring down hard rain. Afer this the rain went away and the sun came out. I went out my second race and got a second place finish. I should have had first, but I got caught up with lap traffic on the last lap. Two riders past me, but I was able to come back and past one of them in the last corner with my back tire doing a moto GP slide. Jason was up next in the very tough 600 class. He went out and did his thing. The boy was absoutly flying. He ended up getting third place. He could have easily beat the 2nd place finisher, if he wasn't being held up by a expert lap rider. Jason is getting faster evertime he gets on the track. This was a very inpressive race on his part. The next race Trey got a first and I got a first. The last race of the day, the big boys money race, which is the Unlimited Superbike race. Well Trey did it, he spanked everyone again with the little R6, but here's the big news, Kenny got a 5th place podium finish and some cash too. Kenny has really stepped his game up, this is the best of the best folks. I think when he got off his bike he was still shaking. DK thanks to you again for helping out with the bike. I believe that DK was the one who came up with the loaner front wheel for Matts bike as well. Derrick we really appreciate the support man.
