I came across this and thought it would be awesome if the ladies on here wanted to plan a Ladies trip to the The Gap. Let me know what you gals think!

If you’re one of the many female corner carvers out there, find your way to Fontana Village Resort, August 25-27, 2006. Located near the Smoky Mountains in western North Carolina, the resort sits just ten curvy miles from the Tail of the Dragon, the most popular motorcycle riding destination east of the Mississippi. 7:30pm - Possible ice cream inspired social meet and greet (it's going to be hot in August)

11:00am - Group photo at the overlook
8:00pm - Possible dinner party

Sunday, August 27
Late leavers, get together and ride!

Mike, you know that we would want no other than you! You have taken some really great shots at the past Gap trips and at the track....we would be foolish not to ask you to come and do the same for us!

So, if you are willing to be "stuck" with a bunch of girls for a weekend, I know that I would absolutely love it if you would be the photographer for the trip!

it scares me to think of all the makeup that will be put on in mirrors, hair brushing, text messaging, cell phone conversations and only god knows what else while they are trying to ride their bikes. :chin:

Sounds like it would be interesting but how do we all get up there? I know that I surely need some manly men to help me get my bike in and out of my car or on the bike trailor. Plus we all have to think that if some girls are not great riders it is a very dangerous place. I think that all the girls that want to go up should start riding together so that we can all learn each others styles before we go up. It would be a lot safer.

CaliGirl, I can help you practice putting a bike on a trailer. It's tricky, yes, but we women can certainly handle it on our own. Thanks to Mike, I've learned.

Last year's trip included newbies (male and female). As with any group ride I've been on, the newbies generally stuck in the back and brought up the tail. I have noticed riding with the guys (and this is generalizing), they have a tendency to want to keep a quicker pace. Whereas, the ladies I've ridden with like to be brisk with more of a cruise vibe.

I agree with you that Deal's Gap is a very dangerous place and should be respected. If you want to do a group ride of just the ladies, I'm game. I've been trying to get this group together for some time now. Lazy bums!

If the guys of this forum would like to join us, I don't see why not.

I think that most of us here know them pretty well. I haven't seen Larry, Donny, or Becky in so long I might not recognize them. Becky does ride very well doesn't she. They are all deals gap regulars, so they would be a good group to go with. I am interested in going to deals gap for another round this summer, however I don't really won't to go on the ladies weekend.

There is Rebecca, my sister. She has a blue 2006 Fz6.

There is Rachel (Red R6). She rides a red R6 who's bike is being worked on and is one of the coolest chicks I know.

There is Dawn (Alec's_mom). She doesn't ride YET, but she promised me she's getting a bike this season.

There is Shannon. She has only had the opportunity to ride a dirt bike. She is currently saving up for her first street bike.

There is Nikki, Barry's wife. She joins us on rides sometimes, but I haven't seen her on the forum. That lady can ride!

There is Charlene, Tom's wife. She's one of the nicest ladies I've met on two wheels. She's still getting her feet wet, but when she's ready to open it up, she promised me a ride together. Tom, is she on the forum?

There is Kristin. This gorgeous badass in NC that keeps promising me she's going to come visit us.

There is Melissa (DragonFZ6). She has an FZ6 as well.

There is Becky which you rode with.

There is Terry (Tink). She's a pretty good rider. I haven't seen her sign in here in some time though.

There is Allison (ally_cat). She's a sweet lady. I heard she sold her R6. Not sure what she's riding now.

There is Amanda (Carolina Princess). I think she dragraces.

Then there are those that aren't on this forum that ride; Sarah, Nicole, Theresa, Jessi, Christy, and a few others whose names escape me at the moment.

You'll meet them. The riders in Charleston are in a small community. Female riders stand out.

You guys missed a hell of a weekend at the Gap this weekend. Brian (killerB), ChrisW, Dan, Tamara, and Terry (Tink) were there. Mike and I were able to finally meet Kristin from NC. She's a super badass that tried to take a tree out with her ribs. You can see pics of it on her myspace.

I can finally say I tamed the Dragon. I may have done it at super low speeds in almost a vertical position with my heart in my throat, but I did it!

And I'm SO ready to go again. Mike and I want to go again before October. Any takers?

Thanks Barry, I went very light on the pics that weekend. There are more, but I figured it'd be enough to post up the ones in the gallery. Yeah, we had a great time. We spent Friday night in Asheville, and Saturday night in the Phillips in Robbinsville. It worked great - rather than busting ass to get to the Gap at, say, 2AM, we got a good night's sleep, and still rolled into the CROT around noon (this was after checking in, dropping the bikes, going for a warm up ride, etc.).
