AMA PRO ROAD RACING FOR 2010
For the 2010 season AMA Pro Racing will conduct road racing events for three primary classes, American SuperBike, Daytona SportBike, and SuperSport. Additional special classes are under consideration but have not been accepted at this time. The Moto-GT Series is discontinued and manufacturer interest in the proposed F-450 category has not been sufficient to allow us to include it
in the 2010 program
That sucks
Aw shit... well... that might make WERA the only game in town for Kenny and Trey...

Does WERA have endurance races? maybe Kenny and Trey need to put on their big boy panties.... lol... WERA would be pretty cool.

+1
And there reducing the purses. I guess their dwindling grid sizes were too big and they want to make them even smaller. Sounds like spectators will be lining up to see that.

Yes they do and it's more accessible to local fans like us.

WERA National Endurance series is some 20+ years old. So yes they definitely have a series. In 2010 they will be running 3 money classes, Heavy weight (750+) Middle Weight (600s) and Light weight (mainly SVs). All 3 classes opperate under REAL superbike rules (not the watered down DMG superbikes).
The schedule is as follows
2010 Bridgestone National Endurance Series
3/13 Roebling Road Raceway - 4 Hour
4/10 Talladega Gran Prix Raceway - 4 Hour
5/22 Miller Motorsports Park - 6 Hour
7/3 Grattan Raceway - 6 Hour
7/31 Summit Point Raceway - 6 Hour
8/6 Virginia International Raceway - 4 hour
9/11 Barber Motorsports Park - 4 Hour
10/8 Grand National Finals (Road Atlanta)- 4 Hour

So moto gt is gone..... DMG should be ashamed of themselves, I wonder how many teams they have Fucked out of sponsorship with this latest move........ Racing in the AMA has lost its luster.... They are nothing more than americas fancy club races...

Was kinda hoping it would happen, because Trey and I wanted to race WERA due to the fact that now we can have actual Tire sponsorship from Dunlop:smilebig: I enjoyed running in the AMA, it was fun and may still try in the Sportbike catagory, but the sponsors new this may happen so it was already in the works, now I can make my decision on the motors:evillaugh:
So:yeah:

Well, this may work for both of us. I wanted to run WERA next year anyways so this seems to fit the plan perfectly. I run my lil race, then when I'm done, I work crew during your race. Sound good to you?

Works for me, so you'll be heading to Miller with us then? This actually better in a lot of ways, I'm still looking over the rules, but Now we can have Tire sponsorship, we can run MR9, and I don't believe there is a fuel limit. All a plus...........
They are the same rules in which Matt and I took the Championship in 2007.......sooooo......bring it on. Now we can be "over" 80 hp and less than 360lbs and I can put the GSX-R front end on:evillaugh:

Awe c'mon Donnie, we don't like secrets....
So Dan, you are thinking about running WERA? I was going to ask that since you posted up the schedule. Good luck with that and I hope I can make it to some of the races. Wouldn't mind helping out any way I could..... sponsorship excluded.

No limit on fuel capacity. Quick change stuff legal, pretty much anything you want to do will be legal since it is superbike rules.
Most guys get an extra large tank with 2 dry breaks on them, talk to Britt on the WERA board if you want a tank made.

He doesn't need a Britt, he needs a Dan.
His tank already has one dry break, extra fuel capacity may be nice though.
The reason for the dual dry breaks is one is for fuel, the other is a vent. Dumps 6 gallons in about 5-10 seconds.

Personally I think this will be a good thing for racers & fans in general.
I actually enjoyed watching the Wera Endurance race cause it seemed
to have more types of bikes & more entries than Moto GT. Club racing
is grass roots & this will make the turn out even better.

The current set-up we had with one dry break dropped about 4.3 gallons in 6 seconds. As long as you have a good vent to push out the air as the fuel goes in, the fuel falls right in.

Cool, just know what I have seen Vesrah, TVR, BEI etc... use. No need to make it anymore complicated when you have something that works.

What about racing the LW series and not endurance?

If I did that I would run HW Superbike. I like the endurance series and splitting the cost is nice:yeah: I am more at home on a litre bike, but the small series is a lot of fun.

Yeah Vesrah is just a bunch of hacks, makes you wonder how they can do fuel, 2 tires, and a rider change in 12-14 seconds
