Bikers Beware

It seems the new thing is for 2 guys in full leathers and helmet pull up next to a biker at a stop, kick the lone biker off by gun or knife, and steal his bike. The 2 take off on seperate bikes in seperate directions making persuit impossible. Right now, it seems to be the thing for sports bikes, but it wou't take long for this to happen to any one of us that ride alone.

( I have not known this to happen in Charleston area, but is happening in other states )

Olympia, WA - Two motorcyclists were injured after a vehicle involved in a road rage incident struck them on Interstate 5 Saturday morning.

Two people were arrested following the crash, which blocked at least two northbound lanes at Exit 105 for more than three hours, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Glenn Huff, 66, of Olympia was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was in serious condition Saturday afternoon, a hospital spokeswoman said.

MC Oliver, 40, of Shelton was treated and released at Providence St. Peter Hospital, a spokeswoman said.

The road rage incident began about 8:30 a.m. when Allan Poor, 33, of McCleary and Connie Minton, 40, of Shelton, began driving aggressively toward each other and displaying hand gestures as they merged from U.S. Highway 101 onto northbound Interstate 5.

At one point, Minton's 1996 Toyota Camry swerved and struck the 2004 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by Oliver and the 2000 Yamaha driven by Huff.

Minton's vehicle came to rest in the far right lane and was struck by a 1984 Toyota Corolla driven by Robert Rubican, 62, of Olympia.

Rubican was not injured.

Poor, driving a 1998 Toyota Tacoma pickup, allegedly fled the scene, but a witness followed him and later a state trooper stopped him. Poor, who had a teenage boy in the car, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and two counts of vehicular assault. Minton, who had two teenage girls in her car, also was arrested for two counts of vehicular assault.

Both drivers were booked at the Thurston County Jail and were being held without bail.
