View Full Version : Earlier Sunday Tree meet time?
I few of us have proposed to move the Sunday ride to an earlier showtime. I just wanted everyone to be given thier chance to ya or na the ideal. I know the weather is going to start getting hot and muggy and alot of peeps hate riding in the peak hours of the blistering heat.
Next question is what time to agree on if you do indeed agree? I leave the Fire station at 0730. So anytime is good for me. I understand alot of people either go to church or are recovering from the saturday night cocktail flu so please reply with your thoughts on the topic.
quote="Nash"]But hey...I'm up for leaving earlier. I'd rather do that anyway so we could take a break at Sportz Cafe and watch the MotoGP race, then back to riding again. Just a thought.
quote="Sum650" That sounds like a good idea to me. Do you have the moto GP schedule? Then maybe we could get a group to ride earlier, and meet afterwards to watch the race and EAT. Boy, do I come up with some good ideas! I won't be here the next three weekends, but I'll be around after that. You got a bike yet Nash?
We've tried 10am before and it didn't work so well. Everyone says they'll make it but actually showing up that earily proved easier said than done. I propose 11 or 12. On MotoGP weekends we could gather at 12 then head to Sportz, or somewhere showing the race, get a bite to eat then take off for the ride.
Some of you guys may not care about watching the race and would rather ride instead. That's fine, I'll catch up!

How about 12 like you guys said but a 30 min BS limit so we can be rolling by 1230. Lets see what everyone else has to say.

Never ridden with ya'll on sundays but 1230 sounds good to me, stopping and catching the motoGP race sounds like a plan too. Although if it's heat you're complaining about that makes no difference.

Like Nash said, we've tried the earlier times on regular Sunday rides but hardly anyone shows up. Usually only 2 o3 people would show up and we would feel like the joke is on us. 1:00 seems to work for serveral reasons, party goers have a little recoup time, some of us do go to church, not many people want to get up early on the weekends, iaminxtc, Mac and several others are just getting there breakfast at 12:30. . Also the majority of the riders are still not on this board would show up at the usual 1:00.
I think Crash had a more realistic goal, we should be shooting to get everyone to meet at the standard time of 1:00 and leave come hell or high water at 1:30. No more, I forgot my girlfriends helmet, so and so is on his way - he just got up, I dont have any gas, I need to eat first, etc. etc. I know that myself and a lot of us usual riders wont be around for the next two weekends because of the 2 upcoming bikeweeks etc.. So if you guys want to wait around until 3:00 I dont care, but after this we will be leaving at 1:30 PERIOD. So spread the word!

I leave my house the before the sun comes up to tell it to get its ass on the move. I hate burning daylight. Ride from sun up to sun down.
ok...1:00 it stays. Call or email if anyone ever wants to go riding anytime else.

I left out on a ride Sunday at 10:00 with Joe. We headed up 61 past Givhans. And hours later ended up in Columbia, that was not our plan. Need an updated map. I did not make it back here till around 3pm or so.
