Figured this was a more appropriate place then the Columbia forum. Anybody here going to the NESBA event at CMP? I'll be out there on the Sunday, June 13th with a buddy of mine. They still have 8 spots available as of when I signed up this morning for beginner.

I want to take a stab at CMP but I may not be returning from Ft. Lauderdale until Saturday. I know they have a race weekend in July but damn it's gonna be hot then.

The next NESBA event at CMP is September. Hopefully some of ya'll will make that. Carolina, sorry your bike hasn't sold yet. Amy are you running the race at Tally?

I will be at Tally if I'm still allowed to have Saturday off. Safety stand down day was called for because a guy in another shop tried to off himself over a girl breaking up with him. That loser might ruin my plans.

Uh... there is no more you following me anymore bud. I'd be happy if I could just keep the back of your bike in sight. Don't think I have been on the track since your first time out on the cone.

Your times make me jealous now. Just one more reason I need to get a track only bike. Tired of holding back because I'm scared to trash a bike that's not made for the track and not paid for.

Well that's what the honda is for right? Or did you get that as a "street" bike?

Your times will come down when you do get the proper bike. That Duc made your technique good, now you just need a little more power.

And if you were not building a house right now you would have more time and money for the track! But I understand that trade off all too well.

Don't have a Honda anymore. Got rid of it a few years ago.:wall:

I think we rode on the sun today. It was 100 degrees under the canopy.

Pretty sure every session but two had a red flag. I know of 3 people who took a ride in an ambulance. People were going down like crazy from the first session until the last. The second ADV session a guy got taken out on a life flight. They got called back again after lunch for an INT guy but did not take him.

I had never been to CMP before and it kicked my ass after being off the track for over a year. Wish I could have gone out on the track without the other 5000 people in my group. Never thought I would say it but, I wish I had been a RRR. Never did really learn the track since everybody that was faster than me would fly by me on the straights and then fucking park it in the corners. This is were I think NESBA kind of blows. When I went to JGP you could pass on the outside in my group. Not NESBA. I'm not talking shit about NESBA but at least let the B group pass on the outside. I have no chance of passing anybody when they are straight up on a straight stretch. Those are the NESBA rules for B group. Pretty much made the day suck. Since I had no straight away speed I was not allowed to pass. Because INT was sold out I had to buy a B group slot from somebody who could not make it to the track. I got bumped backed down to B group for doing so. It was the only way I could ride.

So after all that boredom I decided to throw my bike down the track in turn five. Thank god for rearsets. It's going to cost me $40 to replace the right rearset peg and brake lever. Firm believer in Woodcrafts now. My frame slider did not even get touched. Basically the front tire turned into the Gulf of Mexico due to the heat and had enough, said goodbye and I'm on the ground.
As I'm picking up my bike I hear the Cajun Crawdad in the back of my head saying, 'I'll never run street tires on the track again, I got fucked up the last time I did that".

Corsa III's are great unless you suck.

Almost forgot. I started my day off by dropping my brand new Shoei X-12 with a new $55 visor on the the ground during tech. Visor is trashed. Helmet is fixable. I had never even ridden in the thing. Of course it looks like shit now.

Man I need to get back to Chucktown and feel at home again even though I'm slow. At least I can be slow and know where I'm going. It's just comfortable at the KR days.

Oh well, guess I could have been working.

Hey Kenny, that A*'s jacket you sold me years ago looks like shit now. I finally got me some track rash. :yeah: The shoulder is gone. Guess it's time to buy some gear that does not look like something Wayne Rainey wore.

Sucks to hear your time out there wasn't all that. Glad to hear the bike didn't fare too bad during it's little nap. I hope today has helped you realize the urgency of having a proper track bike. If that were the case not everyone would have passed you then parked. When's the next track day for you? And where?

Oh believe me, I've known I need a track bike for a few years. The wife.....not so much. Life goes on. Guess I'll have to wait till I turn 40.

Wow what a shitty day. Particularly for those guys who got taken to the hospital. I'd heard that NESBA was supposed to be awesome. I'm a bit worried to be out there now. Oh well, see you in a half hour as I'm headed out there.

Damn Greg, Atleast you are ok. Time to get you a set of Race tires for the Hyper. I would get a set of Dunlops they will prolly last you a good bunch of trackdays. I rode my 560 SMR at CMP once it was super fun in the turns but super sucky on the straights. You need my GSXR :D I make a special price fo you;)

Not to put Crash's business out there but he went down too. He's Ok but the bike is done for a while. Chris Mucc..had a bad day also. he never made a lap. His bike would never rev over 7k...
Sounds like a pretty bad day all around..

I'm sad to see that you guy's had such a bad day. I haven't been to the track there since it was redone. I thought the old track sucked. Sounds like I still need to stay away from it.

For me, the track was not the problem. The track itself is awsome. The redo of turn 12/13 into a beautiful highspeed sweeper is a blast to run.

I was thinking about you guys yesterday. I think I nearly died mowing my 1/4 acre lawn... I can't imagine how HOT and MISERABLE it must have been in leathers.

I'm pretty sure I'm glad I was too lazy to sign up... If dudes were going down left and right, I would have probably been one of 'em.

Hoping for the speedy recovery of the injured. Did anybody see the deer vid from Summit Point? Now thats scary...
