View Full Version : Aug trip to TN!
Hey everyone! Dave here in case a few of you don't know my screen name. I know there is a plan to make a trip to the Gap in July but I've talked to a few guys about going to Tullahoma TN instead. It's in eastern middle Tennessee and it's about 7 hours away. The roads are great but the traffic is much lighter, plus there are plenty more things to do since there are bigger towns nearby. The plan is to go the weekend of the 16th and 17th. Plan about four days Thursday thru Sunday or Saturday thru Tuesday. It doesn't matter to me. Hotels are pretty cheap and there are great roads in every direction. Barry, Chris and I are in and I'm hearing Alan and Steve are in also. I'll be trying like hell to get Ty and Lance to go but that's fighting an uphill battle with them. Those two will need to fill out permission slips with their wives first! The Sadano excuses will be in full effect come July.
Anyway, this should be fun and different trip. Oh yeah, bring swimming trunks because my folks have a nice pool we can enjoy after a long ride if you don't mind an above ground pool behind a triple wide!! ........kidding of course! :lmao:
Going to Tullahoma! (I'll edit as we get more definites)

I'm in for sure. Dave has been telling me about this place for years. So I'm looking forward to the trip. I will have the weekend off for sure, but I will have to let you guy's know if I can take off on Friday. Hell, I'm taking like every other Friday this summer plus vacation. If I were my co-workers I would say, why don't you just tell us when you can work.
I can't leave Friday if we take off Monday and Tuesday. I'm working the night shift 3 to 11. How about leave after work (5 or 6pm) Wednesday take off work Thurday and Friday and come back on Sunday?

AlanHey Dave, It looks like I'm going to have to remove my name from this short list. I have a family reunion to attend that weekend.
Yeah, I'm having a problem getting off that weekend of work. Seems like everyone at work wants that weekend. Anyway, how about we move it to the last weekend in July or sometime in Aug?
Ok, it's time to see who wants to go to Tennessee in Aug. The only weekend I can't go is the last weekend in Aug. All others are good for me and since I'll be your guide, you will need me (Alan, that comment is for you) and riding lessons will be free, just this one time! I'd like to go for at least 3 days but I'd rather four so we can get two full days of riding. If anyone would like to go, I'll make room reservations and travel plans. If you don't have a way to trailer your bike, I should be able to find someone to take it for you. Let me know, great riding opportunity. Everyone is invited even if I don't know you.

Cool mac! I'm pretty sure Barry and Alan will be going also. I'm sure we can get Charles and Chris to go too. By the way, did Chris get a new bike yet?
How does the weekend of the 13th and 14th of Aug sound?

I may be interested. I think my last day of work may be the 11th, what times exactly are you thinking of going?
Original One, you're more than welcome to tag along. It looks like the weekend of the 13th. I'd like to take at least three days, but four would better. Doesn't matter which days, honestly. Whatever is good for everyone else.

August is a no go to the gap for me. When all of you guy's back out for August, lets plan to go the weekend after the last race weekend in Sept?
Trip to TN isn't to the Gap. It's to Tullahoma TN. Two folks were killed at the Gap last weekend and the cops are everywhere. I'm hearing they may try to close the gap down and put a interstate thru HWY 129. Not good.
Barry when is the last race in Sept?

There is a thread about the proposed interstate, it won't take away hwy 129 thats just rumor. There are tons of other rodes to ride besides the gap. I would love to make it up to Tullahoma to ride if you guy's dont go in August. The last race weekend is Sept. 24/25th at VIR.
I guess it really depends on how many people want to go next month. I'd like to enjoy the hot weather while in the pool after a days ride. But then again it doesn't matter to me.

I think the Sudanos have tickets for the Circus of Queers that weekend.
