I received the below from Doug Berry. When asked if he needed anything, he said he is back at work and on pain killers. Just thought you guys would like to know.
*****
I was running the 4 wheeler at the track behind kicking horse saloon on saturday when it happened. The bitch of it is, I think it was broken before I fell off the quad.
I hit a 10 ft jump and landed akward. I didn't fall of the quad, just had a hard landing. I didn't fall off of the quad until the weakest portion of the track. It was a Burr (banked turn) three woops and then another burr. Well I cleared the first burr and jumped the first woop and landed on the tail end of the second woop...(like you should)...then I figured I would roll over, not jump the third woop so I could take the next burr (turn) with a nuetral suspension.
Well, thaz the last thing I remember. I literally rolled over the last woop and blacked out. When I came back to the quad was rolling next to me.
I talked to a couple of MX racers and they told me what probably happened was I broke my collar bone on the big jump I took, then all it was...was a matter of time before I pinched a nerve and passed out.
Where I went wrong was this...I found out later on...that four-wheelers come from the factory with the suspension set "full soft"...not good for jumps. Whoopsie...lesson learned!!! I figured it came nuetral like motorcycles do, but then it was explained to me the only reason motorcycles come with some tweaking done to the suspension is because you carry passengers on motorcycles.
What can I say...in this case...ignorance is not bliss...LoL...Ouch, still hurts when I laugh.
