Is it me or local dealerships out of their freakin' minds lately? As most everyone knows I've been out the motorcycle scene for about a year now and just got back in. When I go to buy anything these days, rear spools, oil, oil filter, etc., I get the highest price quoted possible. I always expect car dealerships to treat me this way but a local mom and pop motorcycle joint? Come on! For an example, the day I bought my new '05 bike (Champion Honda) I went to the back to pick up a few things, the person at the counter knew me and asked where I'd been, then freakin charged me retail for everything I just bought...this after just spending over 11k on a bike just 30 secs before!

I've never paid retail anywhere in the Charleston area and Champion has always been good to me. They should be, I've spent tons of money there. Maybe Kenny can chime in here and help explain a few things to me. I'm not going to come out and ask for a discount, I shouldn't have to.

Anyway, I went back in today to pick up a few things and was charged retail again. Well that will be the last time if this doen't change. I'm not sure if the policy at Champioin has changed or is the person that works back in the parts deparment doesn't like to cut a break for returning customers. I also went to Velocity Honda for a Yosh pipe and they were almost 200 bucks higher than the internet. I realize the internet folks buy in bulk and can sell for cheaper prices but I will not be paying the high prices for the local dealerships any longer. For now.... it's the internet. I can wait a few days to receive it by mail.

Sorry for the bitchy rant.

I forgot....KWS still gives us a discount and their prices are still reasonable but they are not a dealership so I guess they shouldn't count.

FWIW, Champion's policy for at least as long as I've been going there (four years?) has been to pricematch nearly everything within reason, it's even on their front door, something like "we will not be undersold on any available product". So yes, you have to ask, but once you do, odds are good you'll get it.

Have to ask right after buying a bike? That right there throws up a flag. Anyway, I shouldn't have to ask, I never had to ask before and I've been shopping there since '97.

Let me ask you one thing, did miss bitchy girl there give you major attitude? Now KWS doesn't count as a dealer store. Kevin has known you for how long? Get my point. Now when you actually go to the parts counter now a days, who knows you? Who knows that you have bought several bikes from the store? No one. If Philip were still at Champion Honda, would you have to ask for a discount price, probably not. If you go to any local dealership around town your going to pay the full retail plus price. At least Champion Honda / Yamaha will price match just about anything. I talked to a local bike shop owner about parts and there pricing not to long ago. This is what he had to say. " Shit Bo, I don't know why other dealers are selling parts on the internet for so low, hell it's not like you can go to Wal-mart and buy these bikes and parts. So I sell my stuff for retail." This was not a Champion store! I recommend that you give Matt, over at Champion Yamaha a try. I know it's a ride to go over to Mt. Pleasant, but it's worth it. Just not to have to deal with bitchy girls tude. Anyway, I know that if you talk to Matt or Kenny they will hook you up on parts. If that doesn't work let me know. Here's what I'll do. I will schedule a one on one with Matt at next track day. Then I will pass him on my little SV and hurt his feelings. :binkybaby: How's that for action!!! :lmao:

Yeah, I'll talk to Kenny but I hate driving that far when Champ Honda is down the road from work. If I buy something that cost big $$ I'll call Kenny but all the smaller stuff I'll still get off the net. Maybe I can get in good with Velocity.

By the way, she is bitchy. What's up with that, she used to be cool? If a few people notice her mood problems, why in the hell is she still there?

I have not been to another bike store in a while. I called Champion Honda a while back looking for a part for a flattrack bike and the lady was a pain. Others at KWS have noticed the same thing.
Most of the time I notice the same people that come back to our shop and give them a deal. I don't think I know everyone on this site but if you come in just reach over the counter, grab my shirt and tell me you want a discount. That is what Chris does!
Just tell me you are from this site and I will help you out.

YAMAHA KICKS ASS! :w00t:

Don't get me wrong here, it's not the money; it's being appreciated for being a regular customer. How much is 10% or 15% going to really save me? Not much, but you get my point.

I understand what you mean. To be honest if you are looking for the best deals, stick to shopping on line. :eew:

Then I will pass him on my little SV and hurt his feelings. binkybaby How's that for action!!! lmao

What I meant to say was, I will pass Matt on my little SV and hurt his feelings, and then I am going to catch up with Trey and STUFF him in one of the backsection corners. Kenny, you dont think that you made in out of my dream unscathed do you. Just as I finish stuffing Trey, Jason comes right behind and does like wise. Now it's Jason and I hard on the gas coming out of turn 9 with the throttles pegged. My little SV's motor powers me to barely beat Jason at the finish line for the win, and you Matt comes in last place. It's ok, Matt at least your feeling are just hurt, Kenny and Trey are sitting on the sideline weeping like babies. My son Mari is nice enough to go over and hand them a fresh blue shop towel to dry there tears.

I just wanted to make sure that everyone knows that I was being wildly fecitious. I thought that might get a rise out of Matt. If you don't know Matt, he is a super cool nice guy in person, but when he gets on the track, all bets are off. He is then transformed. Anyway, I hope to be at Matt's level one day. Hey Matt, if I can stay off the ground in practice, I've got a big cherry bucket prepared for VIR. Boy, I am ready to be gridded up right now. If it makes you feel any better Matt, my nephew is still in aw of you Kenny and Trey. He thinks my story above is pretty funny. He compared it to like Jack and the beanstalk, a huge fiction story.
