View Full Version : Intro from the other side WHATS UP!
Whats up everyone This is Randy with the zx10r wanted to pop in and say whats up. I have been a long time member of the other forum but one of your guys invited me to check out DK's sht. Its a little confuseing but read some interesting stuff. hey mike sorry to hear that man that sucks glad you got it back Georges vanished in the middle of the morning. his was missing between 9am and 12pm sunday. {yellow zx6r with crash cage} Saw a thread about dealerships. well i got revenge after droping like $25K at lukes on rivers they told me to come back when i was serious about a ten. so I showed up the next day from georga and told them i needed a stering dampner.lmao They didnt see the humor in it. So as far as im concerned Its DK cycle world and KWS sometimes. So fck dealerships. They need to realize who REALLY writes the checks.
Anyway glad to check out yalls stuff. take it easy rubber side down!

that's a good way to introduce yourself. :chin: dont base your dealer theory on lukes only, try to grow up and open your eyes. if someone told me you were a dickhead, i'd wait and find out myself before judging you. just some words of advice. by the way i'm a dealer. enjoy the site.
I agree with Kenny to a point but in general the Charleston area dealerships do suck. Champion Honda and Yamaha have been the exception ,but as of late, Champion Honda hasn't been the most pleasant place to do business. Hopefully this will change soon. Champion Yamaha will be the only one I'll be using.

I bought my bike from Kenny when he was working at Honda and was very happy with the price of the bike. They matched an out of town dealers price. But everything else I bought like helmet, jacket, gloves, and ramp I paid retail for. Lukes did the same thing for me on my previous bike but I got a good deal on all the other stuff I bought at the time of purchase. Kenny keep telling me they could not come down from retail on anything else because I got such a good deal on my bike. B.S. I also got the whole story about how much they have to pay for the Honda sign out front. At least Lukes gave me a military discount on the stuff I bought extra afterwords and did not give me the run around. I could care less how much you pay for the Honda or Yamaha name. I'm the fucking customer paying for your dinner.
Don't even get me started on that GUY in the service department. He cost me some cash.
When I buy or do anything for my bike it will come from KWS.
After my experiance with the service dept and talking to Kenny on the phone about what was going on there are a lot less AF folks making the drive down Dorchester. Worst service dept service I have ever had in 20 years.

Who? Mandingo...
Lucky929er, you just said they matched the price of an out of town deal, so the out the door cost must have been pretty good since you were very happy. Now you're saying you want more money off on the other accessories? Do you know how much they made off the bike? It sounds like they didn't make much off the deal. Get it? If not, Trident Tech has many business classes available to explain all of this.
I have to admit, even though Kenny can't ride a motorcycle, he's been great for business at Champion. The guy can sell bikes and he has many returning customers; including me. This didn't happen by ripping people off.
When I stated the dealer thread I wanted the regulars to become aware of a few businesses, and not to personally bash the folks that work there. Even the dealerships that I’ve spoken about, I personally like everyone there. I just question some of the sales tactics, but not to the extent of name calling.
By the way, I'm AF also.
Yep Mandingo. Insert foot now....

Yes I already knew who Mandingo was. And I should have said came close to matching the price of another dealer. They still were a couple hundred over the other dealer, but close and a lot less than MSRP. I think Kenny for that. It's just that once the papers were signed and I ask to pay something less than retail for some accesories I basically got laughed at and treated a fool.
Kenny was cool and I would by another bike from him. It's just different than what I got when Jamie worked at Lukes.
I appoligze for my comments that were negative. I tend to get very opionated when drinking and I was last night.
As for the guy in the service dept why does he have to treat people like they are below his level? His attitude is not appropriate for that dept.
Bad customer service and paying MSRP are unheard of where I am from. They want you to come back again because you want too, not because it's the only shop around.
Luke's.......hmmmmm...not even gonna go there. I've lived here for over 8 years, so I've had experiences with them all.
I don't know if you've ever spoken to Randy at Champion Honda but he's one of, if not, the best mechanic in Charleston.
I haven't tried to do business with Velocity Honda, former Luke's Honda. I'll check them out shortly.

Yes I have dealt with Randy. I think he's great and have no problem with him. He has worked on my bike a few times and always cool to chat with. I just don't care for the attitude of the other guy.
I agree, he's a hell of a good wrench.

I would say the best mechanic is Kevin Hunt. I would say he is one of the top 10 in the country!! And that is not just me saying that . We deal with people all over the country and the world. All of them says he is the best.
I agree with you about Kevin but I was primarly talking about dealership mechanics. Kevin can't do anything about my warranty work.

trying to remember who this guy is, if i remember correctly this person wanted to me to match a price from tennessee and all i asked for was the gas money that it would of cost him to drive there anyway because it was one of those under dealer blowouts from out of state. why don't you post your name, i'll pull your file and post your bill of sale along with dealer cost. also remember i wasn't in charge at the time either, Greg was. :chin: But if you want to lash out at me or my beloved CHAMPION, then that's cool. you can have an opinion, even if it's a foolish assumption. hope you read this sober. by the way, i said it before, 1/2 of these people have never stepped foot in my store here in MT. P, so why don't you give it a try. by the way what happened to zx10 guy

yeah i'm just tired of ham and cheese for dinner because you think making $100 on sale is the way to do buisness. No one pay's retail?, well go to Walmart and try to haggle on the price of groceries and see how hard you get laughed at. we are in this buisness to make money. If you try to sell your bike and the guy who responds to the add say's sell to me for $1000 cheaper because i'm the customer you would tell him/her NO. grow up and go ruffles someone elses feathers man, grow up. I don't rip people off, i try to make profit. And i can haggle all you want, but it's got to be good for you AND me.

AHHH.............I've known mandingo for a long time now.......& he's a hell of a bike salesman, he done really good in that business, hie service department at champion yamaha is pretty good. I'd have to agree with burns on the mechanic skills of kevin hunt at KWS, I know when I worked there, he taught me a bundle...........So by the bike wherever you want....do your research, figure out a fair price, & if you need work done to your ride.......find a mechanic that does quality work & deal with it. have a sport bike is fun but remember......it's an expencive habit.........but for me.I'll do the work or I'll have Kevin do it, I've work there & trust the job he does.........so quit bitch'n

i guess you guys are forgetting that these bike shops are a business and it there job to make money and kenny and the rest of those guys have a job to do and our job is to save ourselves money so shop around and then see what kenny and those guys can do for you and if you are only going to save chump change by going hours away then you should take a look at yourself and say hey kenny is a good guy and if i am only going to save 50 bucks or so on a bike then go to kenny i know that he will look out for you the best that he can and if you want parts or accessories then the internet is the way to go who can compete with the guys that have multi million dollars worth of inventory and as for repairs and maintenance if you want to save some money buy a manual and read it bike maintenance is not rocket science. and if the problem is too big go to someone you trust don t try to go to kws during race season and expect a quick turn around also shane my friend built my motor at kws and everyone knows what it did and who all it surprised

I am not sure who luck is talking about or even who luck is. I know from working in parts you have good days and bad days. Everyone does. There are days when a customer may walk in with a sorry ass attitude and all I want to do is take them outside kick their feet out from under them and slam their head in the ground over and over ( hear that Chris and Shane) lol. But I don't. I try to treat everyone the same.
If you are somewhere and are getting treated like shit, ask to speak to the manger so things can get worked out. If you are still getting treated like shit when you talk to the manger. It might be best to leave.
With me all anyone has to do is tell me they don't like how I am treating and I will take them out back and shoot em. :lmao:

Well aren't you just the nice guy :gack:
I got a good deal on my R6 from a dealership in SC. The guy was super nice. I'd buy another one from him again. :wtg:
Now parts...man I dunno what it is about parts guys. I thought maybe they thought I was some curb monkey that didn't have my own bike...so that's why they wouldn't wait on me (help me out). But I've gone in to the local bike shops for over a year now and they are still the same...azzholes. I guess if you don't know them personally, then they just don't talk to you. I go in there and ask for stuff and they act like it's so hard to look through a catalog and order something for me. :tired: Now, I order 95% of my stuff off the internet.
Cycle Gear has NICE staff though. All the guys in there smile and speak every time I go in there now. If there is a new salesperson they always ask "so you ride?" Then they help me a ton! I just bought some gloves and race boots from them this past weekend. I didn't mind paying the sticker price. Their attitudes rock and they have personalities...go figure :loser:

well its been a little while since i've posted on here, but surprise...i'm back beotches!!!! i couldn't help but notice the 'out-of-towner' bagging on mandingo, or mangina, or whatever the hell his name is...but he said something in one of his posts that got my attention. he said 'Bad customer service and paying MSRP are unheard of where I am from. They want you to come back again because you want too, not because it's the only shop around.' well if thats the case, then why the f*ck didn't you buy your bike from them if they're so cool?? just wondering. and by the way, in case you didn't notice, you're on the losing end of this argument, so feel free to keep your drunken or sober rebutles to yourself any time now. all the people you're talking to on this forum know each other very well, as well as all the local dealerships, employees, attitudes, and typical things that you would find at any dealerships like TRYING TO MAKE MONEY!! mangina brought up a good point when he said that you have to strike a deal that suits BOTH parties, not just the guy whose 'writing the check'...sure kenny drives a hard bargain, but thats his JOB. hell, i'm sure he'd say the same thing about any of us that go in there to buy shit because we've done it to him!! its not like you don't know what to expect when you go into ANY dealership, car or bike. they have a certain margin they can work with that they have no control over, so they do the best they can to give you what you're looking for while still making sure that they're getting paid, too. if buying at MSRP is truly unheard of where you're from, then i don't think you would have left town to get a deal on a bike. but thats just my two cents... :pals:

well your buisness must not do to well since you like to point the finger without having your facts straight, he bought the trailer well over a year ago and i called my distributor to try and get him a good faith replacement since i don't call them in at all. when he said no i told phil that it would be cheaper to go with someone else cause my cost was $130.00 from them direct, he obviously took my advice and found it cheaper. so let's see, give him the opportunity to find the product cheaper or take "advantage" of a long time friend and take his money. :chin: Phil if you are reading this sorry it didn't work out, but i'm glad you got taken care of. as for you there little zx10, get your facts straight or shut up. also, if you want to learn something about running a buisness, come hang out in my showroom on a busy day when i have 5 guys wanting to buy R1's at dealer cost, then tell me how i should handle it. by the way what type of buisness do you run that you can compare customers to me. phil is a good guy and his girl is one of the sweetest girls to talk to and i feel that if i have offended him that he would let me know, but his leaf springs broke because they were rusted badly, when i told the company that, they are not stupid and know that we are near salt water and chances are phil may not of properly washed the trailer every time he came out of the water, but since he is a good friend i put my reputation on the line by asking for a good faith replacement on the part. and by the way, yes phil did buy alot of product from me, but none of it was at retail. take your stealership comments and your hot dog stand somewhere else. by the way, i'm holding a trackday on Aug 1, school starts at 8:30a.m., don't be late or you'll get detention. :alright:

Wow! It seems a little overboard if you haven't had firsthand experience. Maybe you could've had a legit complaint if you were the one it happened to, but instead you're getting second hand info and the info looks to be tainted. Have you even done business with Kenny? I've always known you to ride Kawasaki, so how can you start the "pissing and moaning" about someone you've never done business with? Seems a little petty to me.

P.S. If im so wrong print this thread and take it to greg. he knows my number. He sais im wrong I'll appologise about everything. But what you read is my oppinion. and i believe in it.
This is becoming boring. $33 for rusted springs off a year old trailer. Just tell your friend to pay the few bucks and move on.

No body here hides behind a user name. Sure we all have the name we are called on this site or on the street around our other biker friends. There is a spot on the fourm called NEW MEMBERS- INTRODUCE YOURSELF HERE. It pretty much says out stree/user name and our real name and maybe so other things. That way if someone does not know who is soying something good or bad they can go there and find out who it is. :pint: :mexican: :cloud9: :smokin:
Yes, if you read some of the introductions you would know who we are.
Anyway, I'm Dave, I've been riding here in Charleston for over 8 years. You may remember me on my old RC51....but maybe not because you didn't ride with us much. Anyway, now I ride a Repsol 1000RR. No one is hiding behind screen names and I have no problem telling you, here or to your face, that you're pissin' in the wind. I don't think you have a valid point. If Phil has a problem with Kenny, then let Phil deal with it.
Yea nash you got a point.
The screen name thing I DONT have all the facts on all I know is some people were calling and someone on here was ranting about kenny and they thought it was phill. however phill didnt even know at the time this forum existed. I havent even seen the ranting yet but that is because this forum is a little confuseing as to how it is set up IMO. but trying to learn the ropes.
Yea I know kenny is all your hommie and I can respect the fact of defending him. But phill is my hommie soo smae o same o. But your right the trailor is fixxed just will make me think about where I buy stuff from. thats all.

Companies like mine have to deal with customers just like your's so dont tell me about 4 R-1's at cost. let me tell you about done now for no money and done right. And you cant tell me in allll the money phill droped with you that you couldnt come off $33. Hell I bought a pair of alpine stars boots from champion there had to be $33 marked up on that. And as far as owning my company keep dreaming. And yes we have had convorsation before. alllong time ago at the tree. oh and I've bought bikes from greg my hole family has. You cant tell me that this whole phill thing isnt bullshit because apperently it hit a nerve. And yea like phill is going to say "hey im not buying shit from you" Come on. If you really wanted to get a shit load of respect from me and possibly get a long term customer back you should of just said "I droped the ball" but the Im going to talk as much shit as I can shows what needs to be seen. Oh yea The reason I posted my name is because everyone is calling phill asking if it was him raiseing hell {someone here is on this board ??} about kenny. I posted my name because I think it is a real pussy thing to do. To pop up and say "you suck" and then hide behind a screen name. But hey man its all good you run your sales job how you want and I'll run my COMPANY the way I know.

so lets get this straight, just give phill a part that cost me more than it would cost him somewhere else? can you read? the part was $130 dealer cost to me through my distributor. I told him it would be cheaper to get it somewhere else. he paid $33 for something that was his fault!!!!! i gave away my buisness so that he could save money you idiot. shut up, this has gone on long enough. frankly your ass is boring me and if phil is so pissed he should call me. if he doesnt call me then there is nothing i can do and does he know your stupid ass is just throwing his name around like it's nothing? your making him sound like a little bitch by not saying something. if i were phil, i'd kick those yellow teeth down your throat. phil if you are reading this, please give me a call, we need to talk.

just to let everyone know, phil has called me and there was definitely a few facts that were incorrect. :chin: gee how'd i guess. phil is a str8 up guy that will be doing buisness with me again. he has purchased several things from me where he had a good deal and I made $ as well. so i'm going to show these "stealership" quotes to every dealer within 100 miles and we'll see what junior say's then. I may compete with lukes and the others, but in our eyes, your still a geek.
show it to who you want. I believe on the first page or second one everyone was talkin about how they paid MSRP anyway. lol But whatever man. Im done here.

At the possibility of picking an old scab, I for one would like to publicly thank you, Kenny, for assisting me with my purchase. You were very courteous and professional. You were MORE than fair with the price of the bike. I would highly recommend you to anyone in the market for a new bike and/or accessories.
On a more personal note, I would also like to take this chance to thank you ever so much for gracing me with the privilege of touching your hair. I will carry the experience to the grave!

ummmmm... pieces of it. It needs some elbow grease, a few parts, Derek's attention, and lots of TLC. It actually sustained little damage from the theft. It's a rowdy lil thing.
