If a gsxr 1000 owner only got 180 out of a motor build they would be pissed and felt that they had a lemon. I hate to rain on there parade but why would anyone spend 30K to get a 180 hp cbr 1000? Hell the 07 gixxer 1000 will have probably 170 stock. With a pipe, pc and super KWS mapping I'm sure you will see that on these bikes. Throw in 3K for the termosman suspension and you have a better bike. Now with that extra 16 grand that I saved what kinda magic do you think the KWS folks could do to a Suzuki? :chin:

my '06 1000rr made 163.2 SAE corrected hp on the kws dyno.
parts...
full ti yosh rs-5
bmc air filters
dynojst power commander
dynojet ingition module
tuned by KWS
stock it made 148.3 SAE corrected hp
now would i have made more power wigh the gsxr.... yes. but i love my hondas and they do make some good power.

wait a min.... the 179.9hp was just with a head job and cams. they left the rest of the motor stock.
"Ten Kate Racing strips apart and blueprints the engine, retaining the stock gearbox, clutch, crank, con-rods and pistons"
i think kws built an '04 1000rr engine, head, and cams... it made like 187 hp i think.

They do make good power Brian, it's just that it's less than every other liter bike mgf..
You do know that I have to pick on you honda fans Brian. Don't worry Nash will be here to help defend you shortly I'm sure.

Leave it to Chris to always talk up the zuk. I like the looks of the Honda but would be the last brand I would buy.

Some people want substance for there money, and that's where the honda comes in. It's the heaviest an weakest of all liter bikes that one can buy today, right Nash!

Yeah, the Honda was heavy in stock trim but it didn't take too much to shave off the 30lbs. Hp was almost the same as the rest of the liter bikes and I never had a engine replaced.

i'm going to check back at kws but im sure they have only built one '04 1000rr. and it did not peak 190hp. i want them to build the motor in mine but thats not in the fy '07 budget for me.
72lbs off the honda? where do you shave all that from? hell if you figure that every 7lbs is worth 1hp you gain about 10hp.

take all the street stuff off and prepare it for the track. take everything you removed and put in boxes. weigh it and add it up, it'll blow your mind. look at the bolts that hold the rear reflectors on, they are the size of my thumb!!!

you do have a point, i do remember chris' gsxr having a slight oil leak at the gas station on the side of 52, between gc and mc. wait, didn't matt have a little engine trouble on his rr?

So let me translate for you honda guy's. Msawsc has the best liter bike in America, on and off the track, and I must add in Charleston as well. Any ?
Might be fast but I hardly call it the best.

hey if you guys want to pitch in the $ i'll offer up my '06 1000rr motor to kws and see what they can do with it.
if the ten kate honda team can make 203hp in a stock block why cant i?
oh lets not forget that power is nothin with out control... so in our quest for hp lets not forget about brakes, and suspention.
