And the winner is... Jason Disalvo! I mean Jason Duplantis (Champion Yamaha - #1 Sales Guy). Well, I think that everyone was looking forward to the amateur middle weight race. Since it was hyped up by the smack talking between Mac and Jason. Locally we had Jason, Mac, Jerry, and our new addition Evan. Who is Matt's (Champion Yamaha Parts Manager) brother. I've been trying to tell everybody that this boy Jason is fast and getting faster every race. I'll spare you all the details, Jason ran away with the race as usual, Jerry was the second local finisher, and believe it or not Evan was the 3rd place local finisher. Evan was fresh out of his race school class, and this was his very first race in his entire life. Now to top this off, his bike was completely stock, including the whisper quite stock muffler. Everyone was really amazed that he was able to beat up on a lot of veteran riders out there. I really feel sorry for the amateur 600 class racers next year. This was a pretty amazing feat. Way to go Evan! Mac Daddy has been out of the game for a year now, so he didn't do as well, but he'll be back to his regular blazing pace after a few practices I'm sure.
Good News, remembered earlier in the season when I told you to start getting autographs from Trey Yonce. Well, it looks like he has a lot of things in the works for a full Formula USA ride and maybe even an AMA ride. I'll give you more detail as they get ironed out. I knew this boy was going to blow; you can't hide talent like that for long. He wasn't supposed to race with us this weekend but he just couldn't stay away. He bought his R1 down and ran one race which of course he won.
Kenny and Matt had no competition except themselves. They really had some very entertaining racing going on between the two of them. I think all of there races were close. On one race Matt ran an unbelievable 1:14 lap time on the last lap and passed Kenny on the last turn to beat him to the line. This was the track's fastest lap time of the weekend. Matt and Kenny came in 1 and 2 all of there races, except the one Trey was in. Congrad’s to Matt! I think I know what motivated Matt this past weekend, and all I can say is DAMN! Congrad’s are in order again, and this isn't for the racing, but for the 12 that you graced us with.
Now for me. I was lucky enough to win a race or two, but I also lost two races as well. Which I wasn't too happy about, but oh well, I guess you can't win them all. I did however accomplish one of my goals for the season. I was able to beat an expert rider who dominated my class last season. Last year he won 5 lightweight amateur titles. So I was riding high after that win. Art, who is one of the CCS race directors, said that he needed to change the color of my plates, because I was beating up on most of the experts. Needless to say, my head is still pretty swollen.
The Chuck Town Compound / Team Maximoto really put a hurting on the competition this weekend. It's kinda like we own that track. Again, congrad's to Evan, who in my book took the local racer of the week award.
